- how to make decisions.
Summary – 5 steps of critical thinking

Step 1: "Am I reacting too quickly?" — Slow down.
- Don't just read the headline.
- Do not act immediately on your emotions.
- Do not rush.
Step 2: "How do we know?" — Ask questions.
- Who says so?
- What is the source?
- Is it a fact, an opinion, or an assumption?
Step 3: "Is there evidence?" — Look for evidence.
- Is specific information provided?
- Are there other sources?
- Are there dates or just strong words?
Step 4: "Am I seeing the whole picture?" — Compare perspectives.
- Is there another opinion?
- What does this text not say?
- Does it emphasise only one part of reality?
Step 5: "What should I do now?" — Make a decision.
- Do I have enough information?
- Am I acting solely on emotion?
- Am I certain?
Critical thinking means:
- slowing down,
- asking questions,
- looking for evidence,
- comparing,
- making conscious decisions.
